Picture this: it's Monday morning and you walk onto the production floor of NTS Drachten. The smell of fresh metal, the precision of the measuring room and the focus of your colleagues, everything breathes high-tech. You greet your measurement service colleagues and step into the meeting room for the weekly meeting with your quality team.
Today you will discuss the progress of a customer complaint, check with engineers on the status of a number of actions resulting from the last audit, and coordinate with the Production manager on process improvements. In the afternoon you slide into a customer call. The expectations are high, but that is exactly where you make the difference: with your knowledge, tact and persuasiveness you bring calm, overview and solutions. Together with your team, you dive into RCAs (Root Cause Analyses) to not only combat symptoms, but to really solve causes.
Tomorrow? Then an internal session is scheduled to further improve the QMS. Together with your team, you analyze processes, make connections and secure improvements in the system. You work systematically, but with a healthy dose of pragmatism. In this way you contribute directly to the continuity of the organization and the satisfaction of our customers. About the position
As Quality Manager at NTS Drachten, you are responsible for the quality, safety and environmental policy at our Drachten location. You manage seven direct and six indirect colleagues, including quality engineers and employees of the measuring service and measuring room. Together you ensure that our products meet the strictest requirements of the high-tech industry.
You are the point of contact for customers in case of quality questions or escalations and you work closely with the Production, Supply Chain and NPI departments and advise the MT. You translate high customer expectations into concrete policies, processes and behaviors.
This is what you will be doing like this:
- Lead the quality team (quality engineers, measurement service and measurement room).
- Ensure a well-functioning quality management system (QMS).
- Coordinate and improve processes around complaints, audits and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain contact with international customers in the high-tech industry.
- Identify deviations and improvement opportunities, and translate them into structural solutions.
- You will be responsible for the further development of ISO 13485, preparing and coordinating customer audits and following up on the resulting actions.
- Create overview, priority and structure within the team.

About you
- Have you completed a college or university degree, for example in engineering or quality management?
- Do you bring experience with quality systems (preferably ISO 13485)?
- Are you communicatively strong, do you know how to convince people and do you stand firm?
- Do you have leadership experience in a manufacturing environment and know how to coach and give direction to teams?
- Are you familiar with a high-tech manufacturing environment, for example in the semiconductor or analytical sector?
- Do you combine analytical ability with pragmatism and can you separate main issues from side issues?
- More importantly, are you the one who takes ownership, brings peace and wants to move forward?
