NHL Stenden students present successful adaptation and modification projects

News | April 19, 2023

On 14 April, a successful presentation took place in the SKILL building of Innovation Cluster Drachten (ICD). Fourteen students of the Ad Industrial Automation and Robotics programme at NHL Stenden presented their adaptation and modification projects to the ICD companies.

The students introduced themselves and talked about the technical adaptation they worked on for 20 weeks. They also explained what requirements their solution had to meet, and what they modified in the machines, robots and processes. Last but not least, they shared what they had learned along the way.

The presentations were attended by students, company representatives, teachers and even prospective students, all of whom were engaged and enthusiastic. For both NHL Stenden and Innovation Cluster Drachten, it was a successful afternoon with several technical adaptations made by working students of the Industrial Automation and Robotics (Ad).

Karin Vinke, Learning & Development Manager at FrieslandCampina, acknowledged the technical challenges the students faced and was impressed: "This course pays for itself". Company supervisor Marten van Wijhe of FMI Improvia indicated that documenting the work is difficult for working students, but document writing is not a strong skill of most techies.

Enrolment for the Industrial Automation and Robotics (Ad) programme will start in September 2023 in Emmen and Leeuwarden.
