North must work with expats

Municipalities in the Northern Netherlands must do more to accommodate expats, highly educated foreigners who come to work in the part of the country temporarily.

That says chairman Ineke Dezentjé Hamming-Bleumink of FME-CWM, the employers' organization for the technological industry.

According to her, it is of the utmost importance for the northern high-tech companies that it is made attractive for highly skilled foreign workers to settle temporarily. According to Dezentjé, this is primarily a task for municipalities.
