In this role, you have the opportunity to strengthen the HSSE team of the Philips manufacturing and innovation site in Drachten. The HSSE team is responsible for supporting site and line management in fulfilling their HSSE responsibilities, coordinating specific processes, assessing HSSE risks, evaluating HSSE performance and identifying legal and other requirements. You will work together in different HSSE related projects and programs with other HSSE professionals in your team, as well as with HSSE-representatives and leaders of other departments.

You are responsible for

  • Work with process owners to assess HSSE risks and implement risk mitigating and control measures
  • Contribute to/or lead HSSE related projects
  • Support implementation and maintenance of ISO14001, ISO45001, ISO 22301 and ISO50001 management systems
  • Create awareness on HSSE in the organization
  • Contribute to/or lead HSSE related projects
  • Train employees on a diversity of HSSE topics
  • Support leaders and employees in day-to-day HSSE issues
  • Take part in HSSE incident investigation teams (8D approach)
  • Contribute to the HSSE administration and communication
  • Assist in issuing and supervising safe work permits
  • Carry out audits of our HSSE management system

You art part of the HSSE team which consists of the environmental officer, three health & safety officers, and the security team leader. This team is part of the Industrial Projects and Facilities department. You will report to the HSSE and Facilities manager.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science or health & safety management
  • Familiar with ISO14001 and ISO45001
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, in Dutch and English
  • Able to work alone as well as in a team
  • Able to transfer HSSE policy to operational execution in a complex organization
  • Systematic and conscientiously working
  • Self-motivated and independent
