What are you going to do?

As an R&D Manager, you are responsible within our Technology department for coordinating technical developments and managing and supervising projects in which you bring different disciplines together. In addition, together with two team leaders, you are responsible for managing various groups of mechanical engineers and long-term capacity planning.

You have a lot of contact with project leaders, Technology Manager, Product Manager and various other departments. Ideas for new products and applications arise from the market. This may involve new products or optimizing existing products. These ideas are developed by the engineers under your guidance according to established processes and realized in collaboration with partners and suppliers. As an R&D Manager, you monitor the projects and proactively monitor their progress and quality.

You have broad technical knowledge and innovative capacity. In your position you visit customers, suppliers and/or our foreign branches several times a year. We also expect you to play an active role within the Innovation Cluster Drachten, to which we are affiliated.

In short, a very versatile role.

Who are you?

To fulfill this role successfully, excellent communication skills at various organizational levels are essential. We also value courage and natural persuasiveness. Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly are also important. Moreover, you are able to work independently and in a team in a precise and structured manner.

Job requirements:

• You have at least 5 years of experience in an equivalent role within a technical innovative environment.

• You have completed an HBO/WO course where a mechanical direction is an advantage.

• You have experience in leading projects.

• An excellent knowledge of the Dutch and English language, both spoken and written.
