On Thursday, May 23, the Innovation Cluster Drachten, in collaboration with the Dutch AI Coalition and FME, is organizing a meeting about the application of Condition monitoring and Predictive maintenance in the manufacturing industry of the Northern Netherlands. Speakers from various companies in our region take us through practical cases, their results and the challenges of implementation. In a panel discussion we will then discuss in more detail where we stand with this promising application of data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how we as a Northern region can take the next steps together. The event will end with a networking drink.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the most promising applications of data and AI in the manufacturing industry is Condition monitoring and Predictive maintenance. You do not perform preventive maintenance at fixed time intervals, but based on data and AI-based insights and predictions. The potential impact of this form of 'smart maintenance' in the manufacturing industry is great. After all, downtime is expensive and risky, there is a shortage of technically trained personnel and we can thus contribute to sustainability.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

But how do you implement Condition monitoring and Predictive maintenance in your production processes and with your assets, how do you get the most out of the available data and what does it mean for your employees? We will answer these and other questions during the interactive program of this event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do you use the enablers of the 4th industrial revolution: Smart sensors, Digitalization, Connectivity and Artificial Intelligence on the way to 0-unplanned downtime?         • Monitoring and diagnosing the LOFAR telescope system health \u2013 by Sarod Yatawatta, System researcher in signal processing, optimization and machine learning at Astron<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

          Sarod Yatawatta will discuss how AI can be used to monitor the hardware and software used in the LOFAR radio telescope system. Astron can use AI to isolate problems such as hardware failure and external interference and also to predict the quality of the end result (observed data) under such situations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
