The project focuses on understanding and decoupling drivetrain characteristics from the measured behavior, while improving the robustness and effectiveness of the current measurement approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Your Responsibilities<br>As an intern, you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take the lead on this assignment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analyze the current measurement setup and identify key drivetrain characteristics (e.g., stiffness, inertia).,<br>friction, compliance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate how drivetrain behavior influences measured parameters and identify sources of<br>Measurement bias or variation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and develop drivetrain concepts that enable clear distinction between system-under-test behavior<br>and drivetrain effects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve the current way of working by increasing repeatability, robustness, and ease of testing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify and define key system parameters governing measurement performance (e.g., speed, load,<br>contact conditions).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform experiments to quantify the influence of these parameters on measurement outcomes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Investigate and benchmark commercially available drivetrain solutions (motors, controllers, transmissions)<br>systems.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translate findings into design guidelines and recommendations for implementation in the measurement<br>setup.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validate the proposed concepts through testing and data analysis.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Your background:<br>We prefer students who can start immediately for a minimum of 4 months, though dates are flexible. To succeed in this role, you should be pursuing a master's degree or nearing completion of your bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, robotics, applied physics, or similar fields.<br>Additionally, you should have the following skills and experience:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in experimental setups and system design<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with data analysis and\/or control systems is a plus<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on mentality and results-driven approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>English fluency (written and verbal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Team player with a passion for results and people<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You Will Be Part Of:<br>In Drachten, you'll find two of Philips' largest innovation sites globally.
