Join the Grooming and Beauty Development team to transform experimental lifetime data into a predictive model of system degradation. Using an advanced automated test platform, you will connect measurable loading conditions, system response and physical degradation. The assignment combines experimentation, data analysis, statistics and mathematical modelling in a real-world engineering setting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your Responsibilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As an intern, you will:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Take ownership of the assignment, including planning, experimentation, analysis and communication of results.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Design and execute experiments on an automated test platform.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Build and structure datasets containing loading, response and degradation measurements.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Identify the variables and measurable responses that best explain physical degradation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop and compare statistical, mathematical and physics-informed modelling approaches.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Incorporate experimental variation and uncertainty into the analysis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validate model predictions using independent experiments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translate the results into practical engineering insights and recommendations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key Deliverables<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Experimental plan and a well-structured measurement dataset.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analysis of the main drivers and indicators of degradation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>One or more predictive models linking load, response and degradation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Validation strategy and quantitative assessment of model performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final report including findings, limitations and recommendations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Final presentation to stakeholders.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your background<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We prefer students who can start immediately and commit to at least six months, although the exact dates are flexible. To succeed in this role, you should be pursuing a master\u2019s degree in applied mathematics, data science, statistics, system identification, applied physics, mechanical engineering, or a similar field. Additionally, you should have:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Fluency in English (written and verbal).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Interest in predictive modelling, digital twins and experimental design.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Experience with Python, MATLAB, R or similar analytical tools is a plus.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Analytical, curious and comfortable working on an open-ended problem.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hands-on mentality and a result-driven approach.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You will be part of<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Drachten you\u2019ll find two of the largest innovation sites of Philips globally.
