On Thursday, September 24, Drachten will be dedicated to the latest developments in 3D printing and additive manufacturing. The <a href=\"https:\/\/3dprintkompas.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">3D Print Compass 2030<\/a>\u00a0-project will then organize its first Learning Community Day in the SKILL building on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philips.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Philips<\/a> site in Drachten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 3DPK 2030 project team has now been underway for a year. Therefore, this is a great time to share knowledge, experiences, and the latest developments in the field of polymer, electronics, and metal printing with a broader audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3D printing increasingly important for the manufacturing industry<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">3D printing has become indispensable as a manufacturing process for producing parts within various supply chains. The technology is developing further toward mature industrial applications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the Learning Community Day, therefore, the technology itself is not the sole focus. Rather, the practical application within companies, production processes, and various materials receives plenty of attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The afternoon begins with a plenary program.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marijedevries26\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marije de Vries<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marieke-de-boer-ab43351a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Marieke de Boer<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.impacdboats.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IMPACD<\/a> from Woudsend talk about 3D printing boat hulls. Then takes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rien-geerts-5378b3287\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rien Geerts<\/a> by <a href=\"https:\/\/bedrock3d.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bedrock3D<\/a> from Emmen the visitors along in the latest developments in the field of polymer filaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From magnesium and cold spray to printed electronics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the plenary session, visitors can attend various presentations by project participants in smaller groups. Thus, the afternoon offers a broad overview of developments within additive manufacturing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nlr.org\/nl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NLR<\/a>\u00a0covers, among other things, the printing of magnesium alloys and other aerospace applications.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/titomic.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Titomic<\/a> presents the latest developments in cold spray for manufacturing, service, and maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, it shows\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/binder3d.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Binder3D<\/a>\u00a0seeing how work is being done on a 3D production line for parts that come into contact with the mouth and skin.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.astron.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ASTRON<\/a>\u00a0focuses, among other things, on printing electronics, applications for LOFAR antennas, and cold spraying on polymers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other materials and production techniques are also covered. Proper, for example, is working on the development of a PEEK printer and a TPU printer for rubber-like materials. The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.rug.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">University of Groningen (RUG)<\/a>\u00a0shares knowledge about optomechanical components using 3D metal printing technology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Finally goes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nhlstenden.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences<\/a> in on thermomechanical simulation models for large-format 3D printing processes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Sharing knowledge within the 3D printing community<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first Learning Community day is organized by the 3DPK 2030 project together with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fme.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">FME<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/metaalunie.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Royal Metaalunie<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the public section, approximately 50 to 60 visitors are expected from, among others, ICD, FME, Koninklijke Metaalunie, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.edih-nn.nl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">EDIH North Netherlands<\/a>. In addition, members of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.3diamm.nl\/over-ons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IAMM<\/a>, another national 3D collective, invited to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">By bringing together companies, engineers, knowledge institutions, and other specialists in particular, room is created to exchange experiences and learn from each other's developments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Register for the Learning Day in Drachten<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Are you active in the manufacturing industry, engineering, or additive manufacturing?
