Because you can't get in touch with technology young enough, we are grabbing the opening of the innovation center at CSG Liudger in Drachten with both hands. Why? To draw attention among young people for technique. That is why on Tuesday 12 February our chairman Binne Visser opened the Liudger Innovation Lab<\/a>. This makes the school the first secondary school in the Northern Netherlands with its own innovation center.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Of course, the added value of the Innovation Lab is that students get in touch with technology early and experience how fun and challenging it is. Visser therefore considers it a plus for the school, in addition to the regular subjects. And he believes it fits into an ecosystem as envisioned by the Innovatiecluster Drachten. ,,This innovation center should not be a \u2018one off\u2019 but anchored in education at school. That way you can make combinations together with companies with, for example, guest lectures and company visits. The link to business and practical applications makes such a center alive and very valuable for students. There are fun and challenging jobs at all levels and through such an innovation center at school you can show this.\u201d<\/p>\n

Innovative education<\/strong><\/p>\n

The innovation lab is the place for students and teachers of all Liudger locations to work on innovative education using modern learning technology. It is also a place to share knowledge. Special education and ICT experts help the teachers to do this. The center is not only there for employees and students, but also social organizations, companies and (educational) institutions from the region can in the future use the space and the available inventory, including a VR set, a recording studio, a VR backpack, an HP Sprout and a Dell Canvas.<\/p>\n

School board member Joop Vogel wants to use modern technology to better connect education to students. ,,We see it as our task to offer high quality education to our students. That starts with good teaching and thus with the professionalism of teachers, but we want to use the possibilities of modern technology to make our education even better aligned with the bellwether world and needs of our students.\u201d<\/p>\n
