In fact, ICD is our finest and most successful example of this. That cooperation is not only important for economic growth, it also ensures visibility of our region in Europe.\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2018Coalition of the willing\u2019<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Comecer operates in a niche market. With 45 employees, the company achieved sales of 8.5 million euros in 2017. The emphasis in the Netherlands is on R&amp;D while in Italy there is more focus on production and marketing. \u2019\u2019In laboratories, hospitals and industry, we have more than 1,000 systems outstanding worldwide,\u2018\u2019 explains managing director Domenico Sainato. \u2019\u2019Technical innovation is moving so fast and is much more challenging than before, which is why I am happy to join the 'coalition of the willing' of Innovatiecluster Drachten.''<\/p>\n<p><strong>Economy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For alderman Frans Veltman of the municipality of de Fryske Marren, the accession of Comecer is a special moment. ,,Sometimes, as an alderman, you come across companies in your own municipality that you really should know but don't. Comecer is such a company.\u2019\u2019 The alderman explains that his municipality tries to take up all kinds of issues especially locally. Innovation is one such issue.
