Our high-tech business cluster is becoming better known among the students of University of Twente<\/a><\/strong>. We noticed this during the 34th edition of this career event. In its own words, the largest of its kind in the Netherlands, with more than 170 companies presenting themselves for two days to more than two thousand students.\u00a0<\/p>\n

North<\/strong><\/p>\n

For the third time our business cluster presented itself in Twente and with success. Among the approach to our booth many students who came to visit us in a targeted way. \u201dI want to continue working in the North, because my girlfriend also works there,\u201d said an engineering physics student. He was not the only one. A Russian engineering student from Hoogeveen, with temporary side job in the cheese industry, was surprised at the diverse range of high-tech companies. \"I was already afraid that I would have to move to the west of the Netherlands to get work, but now I see that there are wonderful companies in the northern Netherlands.\"\u00a0<\/p>\n

High tech safari<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our story is doing well at the technical university. The agreements with the electrical engineering study association ETSV Scintilla<\/a><\/strong>, for a lunch lecture and high-tech safari along our companies, have only just been made or Applied Physics Study Association Arago<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0reports for our special program. \u201dWe hear positive sounds about your offer and would like to discuss the possibilities for our study association with you,\u201d says commissioner external relations Michiel Nijmeijer. Friso van den Boom, commissioner enterne relations of E.T.S.V. Scintilla agrees with the nice program. ,,We are surprised by the versatility of the program and find it unique that we can pay a working visit to companies that are very interesting for us in one day.\"<\/p>\n

Whereas other companies use their energy for big presentations and fancy stories, Innovatiecluster Drachten tries to captivate and engage students primarily through content. ,,That is why we do not conduct marketing campaigns, but instead invite students in a targeted manner to come and visit our companies,\u201d explains program manager Joost Krebbekx. \u201dWe notice that students really appreciate this and that it suits their needs. They are eager for a high-tech safari, including lunch and a networking dinner!\"<\/p>\n

Robot<\/strong><\/p>\n

In addition to targeted information about our companies and possible jobs, internships and graduate opportunities, one student always goes home with a nice gift. A Star Wars BB8 robot. In exchange for contact information, students compete for this gadget. This time Judith Tell was the lucky one!<\/p>\n

Students from the University of Twente were looking for internships, graduation places and a job on Thursday 15 February! The offer of our business cluster was highly successful.
