As a junior application support engineer your main activities will be around the application support of our digital camera portfolio. You will work with sales managers to support customers on site worldwide and with R&D engineers to adapt and grow our products to fit the customer needs.

You will operate within a multinational organisation focussed on the growth of our Digital Vision activities and will be based in Roden, the Netherlands. Your main task will be to set up an improved customer support structure using modern methods and software. You will accompany sales managers to customers worldwide for on-site technical support and demonstration of our digital products. You will translate customer requirements into detailed technical specifications for the R&D developers and you will answer customer support requests in close collaboration with the R&D team. You are capable of performing your own technical investigations in regards to customer support requests when needed.

We are looking for an energetic team player with good social skills, and a good technical background able to quickly master the fields of image sensors, optics and digital cameras.

We as Photonis are a worldwide market leader in manufacturing electro-optic components used in the detection of ions, electrons and photons. We innovate and engineer quality components for integration into a variety of applications such as night vision optics, digital cameras, mass spectrometry, physics research, space exploration and many others. We provide the most widely deployed night vision tube globally, lead the mass spectrometer detector market, and have products installed in most space telescopes and high energy physics experiments in laboratories around the world.

Junior application support engineer (F/M)

The job

As a junior application support engineer your main activities will be around the application support of our digital camera portfolio. The requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field
  • Proven skills in software, electronics, CMOS technology and/or optics
  • Willingness to travel often and if needed on short notice
  • Good communication skills
  • Written and spoken English and Dutch is mandatory, additional languages are a plus
  • Good at human relations
  • Good at setting up and maintaining a network
  • Well organised working attitude

Experience with or knowledge of the following subjects is a plus

  • Ticketing systems
  • Digital cameras
  • Digital imaging sensors
  • Optics
