As Sales and Business Development Manager Europe you will generate revenue by developing market potential through the implementation and advancement of key product specific business plans in the assigned geographic region.

In addition, this role will generate new profitable business while maintaining and developing existing relationships by attending customer needs, providing support on technical issues and presenting new and innovative solutions.

Our client, Photonis , is a leading multinational high-technology group, with experience in manufacture, sales and innovation specializing in photo sensor imaging technologies since 1937 in several key areas: Defence, Security & Surveillance, Particle Physics, Scientific Applications, Space Exploration, Industrial Applications, Analytical Instruments, Nuclear Instrumentation and Communication. Photonis is the most widely deployed night vision tube globally, lead the mass spectrometer detector market, and have products installed in most space telescopes and high energy physics experiments in laboratories around the world.


      Sales & Business Development Manager Europe


The Job:

As Sales & Business Development Manager Europe, member of Scientific Detectors team, you will generate revenue by developing market potential through the implementation and advancement of key product specific business plans. You will be responsible for sales as well as business development within the Scientific Detectors market mainly in the European region. You are participating and representing PHOTONIS at Conferences and International Exhibitions, and you negotiate contracts, develop sales proposals and quotations and provide company presentations as well as technical papers to customers and the Scientific Conference community. Analysis of market trends and competition will be part of your job in coordination with our Marketing Department. You present new and innovative solutions. You are located in Roden but you will travel extensively within Europe.



  • Technical or Physics Bachelor or university degree
  • Experience of minimum 5 years in sales and business development in an international context, preferably in the area of High Tech OEM’s
  • Well established scientific network and connections
  • Willing to travel and work internationally
  • Good communicator at all levels of the organisation and realistic planner
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, Dutch is a plus
