Geplaatst op: 08-11-2018 | Solliciteren voor: 02-01-2019
ASTRON is the Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy. Its mission is to make discoveries in radio astronomy happen, via the development of novel and innovative technologies, the operation of world-class radio astronomy facilities, and the pursuit of fundamental astronomical research.
The ASTRON Research & Development division is responsible for the technical program. The program focuses on innovative instruments for existing telescopes as well as on developing technologies for future observing facilities.
The Technical Support Group (TSG) provides support to the development- and engineering groups of ASTRON in the realization of the technical projects. The group supports the design, production, assembly and (environmental) testing of prototypes. Board manufacturing of prototype circuits and board assembling is just an example of the TSG capabilities. (Reliability) testing with test tooling and environmental test chambers is another example.
In general we look for students with electronic or general technical skills, like MBO or HBO who are interested in the TSG activities. Students with technical knowledge in combination with practical skills (like soldering) are preferred.
