Internship mechanical engineering: Check and advice on Lean and Cost efficient production.

Assignment

The Philips Molding department in Drachten is currently transforming into a Value Stream Organization (VSO). This emphasizes lean and cost-efficient production. A five-shift structure is in place to optimize production.

The goal is to review the department and determine whether VSO Moulding meets the needs of our “internal customers.”
Is the department currently properly structured to achieve lean and cost-efficient production goals?
The internship project consists of the following parts:

• Reporting and presentation
• Introduction, familiarization with the organization
• Analysis of the current status and evaluation of available information
• Definition of the internship assignment in consultation with supervisors
  Establishment of clear boundaries regarding what is and is not included in the assignment
• Execution of the assignment
  

Expected result

Concrete recommendations to achieve the intended goal of lean and cost-efficient production.

Requirements

• Study mechanical engineering (HBO, University of applied physics)
• Fluent Dutch speaking and writing
• Fluent English speaking and writing
• Available for at least 4 months
