@ The Philips Drachten Production Location we Produce Shaving Heads for the Philips shavers worldwide. To improve our competitiveness there is always a drive to improve our productivity. We see an opportunity to increase the productivity by transferring manual labor to Autonome Mobile Robots (AMR). These robots are available but need to be able to pick and place the current used trays between Trayfeeder(s) and the storage container.

The assignment consist the visual detection of the products that need to be handled via the AMR and the data communication related to this.

We would like to test the developed solutions in our production environment wherein we demonstrate the use of an AMR to fully automate the product handling. This will be in 1 specific area of the low end cutting elements production line.
As there is a test environment available at the PHD production location the challenge is to develop the Vision system and data communication related and test it icw the available AMR (test and run it autonomously).

In the End we need to examen the solution and the usability and define the technical roadblocks and risks that we encounter during this pilot period.

You will be participating in the Engineering Department (SME) at Philips Drachten.

Your responsibilities
As an intern your main responsibilities are:
· Define Vision Requirements & Analysis requirements for Shaving head recognition
· Define how to integrate the Vision system in/onto the AMR system
· Define communication protocol with the Philips production database/IT system
· Realize and test it in a pilot environment
· Report the Technical roadblocks and risks encountered:

We are looking for
We prefer 1 student that is able to start per Q1 of 2026 for a minimum of 5-6 months
To succeed in this role, you study towards your Bachelor or Master in example: Electrical Engineering/ Mechatronics and have the following skills and experience:
· Affinity with mechatronics/robotics in an industrial environment
· Electrical experience to design and develop the mechatronic interface
· Fluent in Dutch and English (written and verbal)
· Team player, passionate for results and people.
· Hands on mentality, team player and result driven.
