In our industry, collaboration is a crucial concept and, in fact, a strategic competence. Usually, we mean collaboration in the supply chain, but collaboration in the innovation and design phase is also crucial. This afternoon, hiring engineering competencies and capabilities is central. Some companies spend a significant portion of their R&D budget on this hiring. This can often go well, but it can also go badly. What are the do’s and don’ts? Are we really partners with each other or is this the proverbial carrot that we hold over each other’s backs? How do the outsourcers look at the suppliers and vice versa?
