on Thursday, March 30, 2023 it's that time again: Girls' Day! A nationwide initiative that aims to get girls ages 10 to 15 excited about STEM.
This year, several companies within the Innovatiecluster Drachten are participating in this national initiative, namely SRON, ASTRON, Resato, BD and Philips.
During Girls'Day, girls can discover what opportunities the technical world has to offer and how much fun it can be to work in it. In this way we want to show that technology and innovation are not only something for boys, but also for girls.
Interactive workshops and guided tours give the girls the opportunity to experience in practice what is involved in developing innovative products and technologies.
At SRON, for example, the girls can learn more about how space is explored and what technologies are needed to do so. ASTRON gives workshops on astronomy and shows the girls how telescopes work.
At Resato, the girls can experience how high-pressure technology is applied in industry, and at BD they learn more about the importance of medical technology.
In addition, various workshops will be organized at Philips in the field of technology and healthcare.
In short, a day full of inspiring and fun activities!
