Department
The R&D department consists of experienced electrical, software, and hardware engineers who are involved in developing new and improving existing BD Kiestra machines. Regularly, questions arise from customers that are initially answered by the Service Department and sometimes also by R&D.
Assignment Description
At BD Kiestra, we design and build advanced laboratory automation systems that must operate reliably across a wide range of configurations. This makes comprehensive testing both complex and resource-intensive.
To enhance the efficiency and scalability of our testing processes, this internship focuses on developing a robust, scalable solution using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to automatically deploy simulated laboratory environments. These environments will be fully prepared for integration into automated testing pipelines, enabling faster, more consistent, and cost-effective validation of our systems.
Core Activities
- Design and develop a scalable and maintainable solution to deploy simulated labs;
- Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) to provision and manage lab environments;
- Integrate deployment workflows with the CI/CD pipeline for automated testing;
- Collaborate with Test teams to align lab environments with testing requirements.
