What can we tell you about the position:
As Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will manage your team and do a lot of multidisciplinary work within the Engineering department and with colleagues from other departments. You will report functionally and hierarchically to the Manager Engineering.
Key responsibilities in this role:
- You manage the team in a natural and efficient manner, planning work and matching the right engineers to specific client assignments or projects.
- For new or complex assignments, you will set up the outline design and be the point of contact for questions about technical feasibility and effort required.
- You will design machines and modifications (mechanical/hydraulic) in Inventor and manage the entire process in Pro.File (PDM).
- You ensure that all designs comply with CE marking and relevant international standards and safety requirements, both within and outside Europe.
- You will be responsible for (checking) strength, power and stability calculations and provide final release.
- You will lead the construction and testing of prototypes and take the lead in solving real-world technical challenges.
- You take initiatives to continuously optimize the efficiency, work methods and results of the design team and the broader organization.
What do we ask of you?
- A college degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Vehicle Technology.
- Minimum of 5 years experience as a Mechanical Engineer in mechanical engineering and leadership experience.
- Knowledge of hydraulic systems and body shop experience.
- You are familiar with European directives such as the Machinery Directive/Regulation
- You are solution-oriented, communicative and collaborative.
- You have experience with CAD and PLM systems. Knowledge of Inventor is an advantage.
- You can communicate well in English in word and writing.
