How do you keep your start-up company financially healthy and what sources of money can you tap into to do so? These and other financial questions were answered by 12 technology start-ups at Neopost in Drachten on Thursday, Feb. 18, during the first in a series of workshops organized by Innovatiecluster Drachten.

Joost Krebbekx, program manager of Innovatiecluster Drachten, introduced the technostarters to financial engineering; obtaining growth capital in the right way. ’’A right way means matching how the entrepreneur does or does not want to commit to a capital provider,'' he reminded the entrepreneurs.

Crowdfunding

Virtually unknown appeared to be subsidies for start-ups in the Northern Netherlands. Seed capital, informal investors and funds such as Doefonds Fryslân passed the review. Douw & Koren concluded the workshop with advice on how entrepreneurs can make use of crowdfunding. Gijsbert Koren , ’This strongly emerging way of financing not only has all kinds of positive marketing effects , but also provides affordable money’'.

The workshop was supported by the Ondernemersvereniging Drachten. The next workshop will be on electric drives and will be in March.
