Software

An ice cold beer or a nice glass of wine on its time, we are fans! But have you ever stopped to think about the production process of a glass bottle? We have! In fact, it is our daily work to optimize the production process of glass bottles and jars for our customers in the global glass packaging industry.

XPAR Vision develops, installs and implements unique sensor and robot technology that enables companies in the glass industry to meet the high quality requirements of Heineken, Coca-Cola and others. This is how we help make glass products lighter, stronger and with a lower carbon footprint. We have now installed more than 600 systems in over 35 countries, making us a specialist and market leader.

We believe that glass is the best packaging material when it comes to experience, quality and, above all, sustainability. Our goal is therefore that more and more food producers choose glass as their packaging material. This contributes directly to a more sustainable world: with a minimal carbon footprint and a lower burden on our environment.

In brief

In recent years we have developed rapidly and gained a solid position in the market. We want to continue and further optimize this process and therefore we are looking for a Software Engineer.

We are looking for a software engineer who wants to work on innovative automation projects using robotics to improve the production process of glass bottles. These are projects that are unique worldwide. Although these projects involve robotics, PLCs and other low-level hardware, there is also a lot of high-level software being used and developed and that's where you come in!

What are you going to do?

As a Software Engineer at XPAR Vision BV, you will develop and maintain software solutions and stay abreast of new trends and technologies within software engineering and robotics. The work mainly consists of developing and testing software, including the user interface (UI), in C++, Python, JavaScript and robot-specific code. You will test that the UI functions correctly and that users can work with the system in an intuitive way. You will also perform integration tests with the actual hardware on our shop floor and possibly on site.

What do we ask?

  • Completed education in a technical field (physics, chemistry, mechatronics, artificial intelligence, software engineering, etc.);
  • Experience in software development and knowledge of one or more of the languages/frameworks listed above;
  • Affinity with hardware: after all, software + hardware together form the end product;
  • Living in (the vicinity of) Groningen;
  • Good command of the English language;
  • In possession of driving license B;

What do we offer?

  • A challenging position in an international environment, with lots of freedom to make an impact and do your job your way.
  • A salary between €3,300 and €4,600, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • A favorable pension plan and 30 vacation days per year.

You will be part of an enthusiastic, informal and driven team of developers who support each other to achieve optimal results and customer satisfaction. You will have the opportunity to develop and expand your talent by working in different phases of product development (from research and feasibility studies to the finalization and delivery of a complete product), for example by working with new techniques or by taking on a project management role and contacting customers and suppliers. We also take time for relaxation; we regularly organize fun activities with our colleagues.

During the induction process, we ensure that you become familiar with our products, tools and techniques. From the start you will be involved in one or more development projects and you will soon be able to see your own work at our customers worldwide.
