News / Omrop Fryslân headlines: Drachten as the ‘Boston of the Netherlands’?

It has been a little over a week now, but the energy and inspiration of the National Autonomous Systems Congress is far from gone. The media also picked up on this. Omrop Friesland was present and wrote a nice piece on how Drachten (and broader: Northern Netherlands) is developing into the ‘Boston of the Netherlands,’ to be read in this link.

With 3 rooms full of impressive speakers, culminating in the keynote by Aaron Saunders, CTO of Boston Dynamics, it became clear just how much innovative power is present - and how strong the ambitions are to become the region's leader in robotics and AI.

Together with European Digital Innovation Hub Northern Netherlands (EDIH NN).AI hub northern Netherlands, the University of Groningen and atnorth we put the Northern Netherlands on the map as an innovative region of the Netherlands and within Europe! we look back with pride on a more than successful congress. Cooperation between companies, governments and knowledge institutions is essential to realize these ambitions - and this congress was a powerful example of that.

The future is autonomous, and Northern Netherlands is in the starting blocks. Here's to more great collaborations and innovations!
