Together with the product development team, you are involved in the development and continuous improvement of our products throughout their entire lifecycle. Products that matter, that make a significant contribution to the overall healthcare chain!

Comecer Netherlands BV in Joure develops, produces and sells innovative products for the (radio)pharmaceutical industry and hospitals with nuclear medicine. Comecer Netherlands BV is part of the Comecer Group and is a company within ATS Corporation. Our products are sold worldwide.

The products we develop and produce are complete end products and subsystems used in a complex laboratory environment with connections to various (client-server) software applications and other Comecer products.

As a Product Engineer, you will work in a multidisciplinary team of enthusiastic product developers (mechatronics, mechanical engineering, software, and electronics engineers).

What are you going to do?

As a member of the “Injector team,” you will primarily focus on the complete product lifecycle management of products within this team. Currently, this mainly involves our IRIS Injector, a medical device used in hospitals, but it could also include other products. You will be responsible for analyzing, initiating, and implementing product changes arising from improvement requests (internal and external), component End of Life (EOL), production feedback, and quality enhancements.

You will receive technical issues and change requests through the change process from sources including customers, service, suppliers, production, laws and regulations, etc. Based on this, you will analyze the impact, prepare change proposals, create an action plan, ensure its execution, and secure it within the product. You will do this in close collaboration with stakeholders such as production, service, suppliers, the product owner, and direct colleagues.

You realize product improvements on mechanical and electronic components, and are responsible for adapting and reviewing mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and related documentation. In addition, you perform feasibility, impact, and risk analyses for new or modified parts, such as transport containers and critical subassemblies of the IRIS.

In this role, you are a key link within the team: someone who maintains an overview, possesses technical depth, and takes responsibility for changes throughout the entire product lifecycle. In the long term, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the thinking of software and electronics engineers, for example, with integral system changes or component replacements. Writing and maintaining technical documentation, including change proposals, analyses, and drawings, is naturally part of your responsibilities.

This is what we are looking for in you

You are a hands-on product engineer with a practical mindset who maintains an overview and takes ownership of technical changes. You are comfortable in a role where you work based on concrete issues and change requirements, structuring them into actionable solutions. Preferably, you have prior experience with medical devices and are familiar with working within an ISO 13485 certified environment.

In addition, you possess:
A completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or another relevant technical field, or demonstrable extensive experience in comparable technical disciplines.
Experience with product lifecycle management, change management, and/or implementing product changes.
• Experience with CAD software, such as Solid Edge, SolidWorks, Inventor, and AutoCAD.
Experience with electrical schematic design software, preferably EPLAN.
• Experience with various materials and production techniques, such as sheet metal, injection molding plastics, milling/machining, hand lay-up, and 3D printing.
Sufficient knowledge of materials and applicable standards for technical drawings.
The ability to analyze technical issues and shortcomings arising from supplier changes, production feedback, or regulations.
An analytical and problem-solving mindset, with the ability to improvise where necessary.
• Good communication and writing skills in both Dutch and English.
•    You are a team player and work well with production, suppliers, product owners, and engineers.
• You have a B driver's license.

This is what we offer you

• Informal work atmosphere in a flat structure, a driven team, and many involved colleagues.
• A competitive salary.
Pension scheme according to the Collective Labour Agreement Metal & Technology.
• 25 vacation days, 5 compensatory days off, and the option to purchase additional vacation days.
• Ample opportunities for continuous development through courses and training.
