On May 7, the TT-Circuit in Assen was all about technology, innovation and discovery learning. During Go Technic! more than 250 young people aged 10 to 15 had the opportunity to learn about technology and sustainable applications in an interactive way.
They built water rockets and piloted hydrogen-powered model cars. They also learned about sustainable racing cars and participated in various workshops and quizzes. In this way, they playfully discovered how fun and versatile a future in technology can be.
The event was organized by the H₂ Academy. They did this in cooperation with companies and educational institutions that want to put technology on the map in the Northern Netherlands. Among the participating parties were also some companies affiliated with the Innovatiecluster Drachten (ICD), such as Resato Hydrogen Technology and Photonis. They gave the youngsters a unique behind-the-scenes look at their technologies - from hydrogen solutions to advanced optical systems.
In addition, the Hanze University Groningen participates in the program. This is one of the knowledge institutions with which the ICD regularly collaborates.
“We want to let young people experience that technology is all around us - and that you can get involved in it in all sorts of ways,” he said.” said one of the organizers. “Go Technic! shows that engineering is not only important, but also just plain fun.”
With initiatives like these, companies, schools and knowledge institutions are jointly building the technicians of the future. The Northern Netherlands is bursting with innovation - and with the efforts of enthusiastic partners like Resato, Photonis and others involved, young people are already getting a taste of it.
