Last October 16, the HR working group of the ICD organized an inspiring knowledge session at Your Partner in Drachten. The theme of this session: Practice-trained professionals.
Learning together and sharing knowledge
During the knowledge circle, twelve HR professionals from the region came together. It became a valuable morning full of knowledge sharing and inspiration. The central question was: how do we attract, retain and further develop the talents of practical skilled workers?
Guest speaker Stephan Corporal
Stephan Corporaal, lecturer in Human Capital at Saxion University of Applied Sciences and affiliated with TechYourFuture, led the workshop. He is also project leader of the national NWO program Smart Skills@Scale. Within this program, more than 3,000 skilled workers are tracked at 300 industrial companies. His research focuses on modern HR practices and the impact of technology on work and organizations.

Smart Skills@Scale: learning from and with professionals
The Smart Skills@Scale project investigates what professionals find important in their work and how companies can respond to this. The focus is on companies outside the Randstad, with special attention to SMEs in the Smart Industry sector. The goal: to gather knowledge, promote influx and retain professionals for the future of Dutch craftsmanship.
Valuable insights for HR professionals
Attendees went home with practical insights and new ideas. Companies were also told that through Smart Skills@Scale they can use knowledge and support for their personnel challenges free of charge. A great example of how collaboration within the Innovatiecluster Drachten leads to stronger companies and motivated professionals.

Innovatiecluster Drachten strengthens the region
With this HR Knowledge Circle, ICD once again demonstrates the importance of knowledge sharing and cooperation for the development of the technological manufacturing industry in the Northern Netherlands. By learning together and inspiring each other, we are building a future-proof labor market.
