Yesterday took Koen Eekma farewell to the municipality of Smallingerland. As group director, he has been the highest-ranking official in the municipal organization for the past seven years.
In that role, he was directly involved in the development of the ICD (Innovatiecluster Drachten) and the continued growth of Campus Drachten.
Involved in innovation in Drachten
During his time at the Smallingerland Municipality, Koen witnessed up close how the innovation ecosystem around Drachten continued to develop. Initiatives such as the ICD and the cooperation on Campus Drachten took shape during those years.
The connection between businesses, educational institutions and government is thereby an important basis for innovation and economic development in the Northern Netherlands.
A recognizable ICD symbol
During the festive farewell meeting, Koen was surprised with the coveted new ICD hoodie. With it, he will also take a piece of the ICD with him in his new work environment.
Koen continues his career in Assen. In doing so, the lines of communication with the ICD network will probably remain. After all, Assen is also home to ICD member Resato, with several locations.
Thanks and good luck
The Innovatiecluster Drachten thanks Koen Eekma for his involvement in the development of the cluster and the Drachten Campus.
We wish him well in his new position in Assen.
