What does a corporate controller or occupational psychologist do? And, what does your day look like if you are a judge, elementary school teacher or general practitioner? What did you study if you became an Industrial Cost Engineer or shipbuilding project leader by profession? For the students at CSG Liudger havo/vwo location Raai, this is now a lot clearer. The location organized a vocational information session with the help of parents of students, designed to help students make a choice for an advanced study.

Students were able to sign up for two different rounds of information provided by parents. The evening also consisted of two plenary sessions in the school's atrium, provided by Mayor Tjeerd van Bekkum of Smallingerland and Kor Visscher, co-director of Philips Drachten. They contributed to the evening by talking in front of a full atrium about their journey from high school until now. They talked about the choices they made and the studies they followed. They also answered questions from the students, such as: What do they like or dislike about the job? What does a workday look like?

Mieke van Schepen, dean of the havo at location Raai, looks back on the evening with satisfaction and is pleased with the large number of registrations of parents who cooperated with the evening: ,,This way of working has only advantages in our eyes. We connect theory with practice. In doing so, we use the valuable knowledge from our own network, namely the knowledge of our parents. In this way we not only involve parents together in education, but we also make education together.”
