On Thursday 16 February, delegates from the Municipal Executive of Smallingerland visited the Drachten Innovation Cluster.

Working visit of the Board of Mayors & Aldermen of the Municipality of Smallingerland

During the working visit, the college was informed about the ambitions and initiatives of the ICD to bind and captivate talent of all educational levels for the Northern Netherlands region. This is good news for the Smallingerland municipality, as this investment in talent will ensure that the region has a sustainable future and economic growth. 

In addition, the visitors gained an insight into current research and developments at our high-tech companies, which are of great value to the region's overall prosperity. With the help of ICD, the Smallingerland municipality aims to become the fourth tech region of the Netherlands!
