Ventura Systems
Meet...
ICD member Ventura Systems designs, engineers and assembles innovative door systems for urban transportation.
The systems are supplied worldwide to leading manufacturers of buses, autonomous vehicles and urban trucks.
Ventura's automatic door systems ensure that passengers can enter and exit safely and that carriers can count on a reliable door system. Each door system is custom made and consists of a mechanism, door blades and fasteners. A perfect combination of hardware and software that improves the quality of the vehicle.
What started small in 1994 has grown into an international organization with branches in the Netherlands (head office in Bolsward), Germany, the United States, Hong Kong, Australia and Japan. More than 300 professionals work daily on the development, production and service of Ventura's systems.
An important part of the production chain is subsidiary Metaal 2000, located next to the headquarters. Ventura operates order-driven according to the Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) principle and does not hold stocks. A reliable and flexible supply chain is therefore essential.
Innovation is a driving force within the organization. About 20% of the employees are active within Innovation, R&D and Product Development. Ventura set a new standard in the market with the Plug Sliding door system, in which doors open outward and slide along the vehicle body. Later followed the Rapid Sliding door system: a single-leaf door with optimal sealing, specially designed for vehicles reaching higher speeds.
Ventura Systems' mission is to improve the quality of urban transportation, with the goal of contributing to safer, greener and smarter cities worldwide.
