BD Kiestra will expand its production from mid-April 2023 with new generation equipment called InoquIA, an automated system for processing microbiological samples. This expansion not only requires a rebuilding of the plant, the company is also looking for new employees.
BD Kiestra develops and produces innovative, high-quality automated laboratory systems for medical bacteriological laboratories. By automating laboratories, large volumes of samples are processed quickly and reliably, resulting in faster patient treatment. In the past, production of this equipment in the Netherlands was done at Kiestra in Drachten.
After the takeover in 2012 by an American manufacturer of medical products, part of the production was outsourced to a machine builder in Canada. The culture and analysis components were still produced in Drachten. The production of the InoquIA creates growth, confidence in the future and more employment. The company is looking for 20 to 25 assembly workers.
