Saturday 18 June was a successful day for the innovation cluster Drachten. More than 300 visitors visited the ICD companies that took part in the Dutch Technology Festival.
NTS Norma, Sparck Technology and the other ICD companies had opened their doors to anyone interested in technology.
The Shared Knowledge Innovation Learning Lab on the Philips site was open to visitors, as was the 3D printing and robot lab. There they could see the latest high-tech innovations, such as developments in the field of 3D printing and robotics.
Almost all ICD companies were represented and demonstrated their own high-tech products; of the Whisper Power Solar Boat, whose team took 3rd place last week. To the bus doors of Ventura, which demonstrated the technology on site.
Also represented was the Discovery truck from RUG with experiments in which children could solder a light themselves. HyFly, which will soon be flying a hydrogen drone to bring medicines or blood to hospitals, The Fablab also had all the technical gadgets on display and of course the ICD companies, each of which demonstrated the latest high-tech products in the field of their expertise.

This was a great opportunity for young professionals considering a different job in technology, students with a technical education, or young people who want to get in touch with technology to see what the possible future job opportunities are.
The 22 ICD companies have joined forces to work on societal issues such as safety, health, medical care and much more. It all happens in the Northern Netherlands.
