Leading role for robot kids at the opening of Google data center

Playing a leading role during the opening of Google's largest data center in the world at Eemshaven in Groningen? Every child wants that! Tuesday, December 6, the honor belongs to pupils of elementary school De Zandplaat and Abt Emoschool of Netwerkschool Loppersum Oost. They will present there their own robot!

Every school a robot

We want to bring technology to the attention of primary school children. Because we already have a shortage of technical personnel, it is necessary to interest children and young people in technology. And why not? Technology is great fun!

That is why we started a pilot with a teaching package, in which students assemble a real Meccanoid robot and learn to program it. In this way children experience the possibilities of technology and see how much fun it is. The video of this was shown at the opening of the Google data center in the Eemshaven on December 6, 2016.

This video shows our pilot with primary school students in East Groningen. The faces of the children speak for themselves. Pilot passed! And Minister Kamp of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Vice President Joe Kava of Google Netherlands are also enthusiastic! Just like us, of course.
