There is no future without sustainable entrepreneurship. That is what Rob Castien, CEO of Resato International, must have thought when his company was nominated for the most sustainable company in Drenthe. He is therefore happy with the title. 'I didn't think we would win, but it's nice that it happened', Castien reacts enthusiastically as Mark Tuit (Regional director IVN Noord), on behalf of the IVN and the province of Drenthe, will present him with the honorary title.

North Netherlands

Resato works together with partners from the North to get the Netherlands on hydrogen. 'We have now built ten hydrogen filling stations and there are many more to come', says Castien. And with the purchasing policy, the focus is also on the North, by collaborating with companies in the region and purchasing products from them.

Durable

The factory building is very sustainable 'with hardly any gas on the counter'. Just like the policy for its own employees. For example, free fresh fruit is available daily and anyone who wants to quit smoking can contact a special coach. Castien: 'We have now helped twenty colleagues to stop smoking'. And last but not least, the high-tech company's fleet is green. Resato was one of the first to drive hydrogen-powered cars, and a lot of it is also electric.

Most Sustainable Company

Resato is the very last winner of The Sustainable Drenthe Event, which had its seventh edition this year. The province of Drenthe has put an end to it.
