The 23 companies of the ICD have together in various working groups. Thanks to these working groups, they innovate faster together! For example, in addition to the R&D, HR and PR working groups, there is also the Robotics working group. This working group regularly organizes inspiring visits.
Thus, April 15, this working group visited Scania Meppel, where special attention was paid to the robotized painting and assembly of Scania truck plastic parts. It was a very instructive visit and may be followed up in a return visit.

Visit to Van Wijnen's Housing Factory
On Wednesday, April 30, a delegation from the ICD Robotics Working Group visited The Housing Factory of Van Wijnen in Heerenveen. Eric Sloot of the robotics working group: “An inspiring afternoon, where we were able to see an impressive sample of robotic prefabricated construction up close.”
What especially stood out:
- Smart deployment of robotics in the construction process
- A much more favorable environmental footprint than traditional construction
- And all with room for a wide range of housing configurations
Thanks to Van Wijnen for the tour and openness. The working group members went home with fresh ideas and inspiration for the future of automated production - also outside the construction industry.
