News / School round Inventor competition 2017 has started

Technology and art go together just fine. The previous edition of the Inventor Competition proved that. In the fifth and anniversary edition of the Inventor Competition in 2017, it is once again the challenge for technical HBO/WO students. Colleges and universities in the north and east of the Netherlands are getting ready for this annual event starting tomorrow. That's when our kick-off tour of the colleges starts.

This time the assignment is: design and build a ‘Robotic artist’ that, guided by an app, creates a 3D artwork from self-selected materials. The 3D artwork must be tangible and permanent. The prize pool is richly filled with six thousand. In addition, the artworks will be auctioned and the proceeds will be for the students. Of course, the most beautiful works of art will be given a place of honor in the ICD-Shared Facility Center in Drachten.

public event

On June 14, Schouwburg De Lawei in Drachten will for one day be the center where technical high potentials show their invention to the world. And everyone who wants to be there is welcome! An expert jury will judge the presentations and live demonstrations. Colleges and universities present themselves.
