ICD organises mini-symposium on predictive maintenance

On 27 October 2022, a mini-symposium took place on Predictive maintenance, organised by Innovation Cluster Drachten, in cooperation with Smart Indystry Hub, AI-Coalition Noord-Nederland and Rijksuniversiteit Groningen (RUG).

This knowledge session focused on artificial intelligence and project development in the field of predictive maintenance in the Netherlands, with guest speakers from companies and professors from the University of Groningen. 

Four business speakers gave presentations on AI-related topics, such as:

  • 'Life extension bearings: from manufacturer to services' by Dennis Fischer van Schaeffler 
  • 'Calculating predictive maintenance, methods and results' by Kjeld vd Schaaf of KxA
  • 'Predictive maintenance in practice: a journey at KLM Engineering & Maintenance' by Sidney Stokkers of KLM en
  • 'National developments on projects' by Bart Beima, AI Coalition Northern Netherlands.

This is followed by a short introduction by the present professors of the University of Groningen. Afterwards, the participants had the opportunity to talk to the professors. The knowledge session was well attended; about 60 people took part in the event, which was concluded with a drink.
