Nieske Ketelaar of Smallingerland municipality will not return as an alderman this term. This was announced Tuesday, January 31, by the municipality. ,,After a period of almost 11 years in which she has filled her position with full commitment and enthusiasm, she has come to the conclusion in the last months that she can no longer bring what she would like and what the municipality of Smallingerland and its residents deserve’’, declares the municipality.
Inspiration
Ketelaar inspired us to go beyond mutual cooperation between our high-tech companies. With her enthusiasm for our business cluster, she motivated the Province of Fryslân, ROC Friesepoort, NHL University of Applied Sciences, the University of Groningen and Hanze University Groningen to join us on this high-tech adventure. Meanwhile, together with our cooperation partners, we are succeeding in making high tech an economic engine for the Northern Netherlands.
We thank Nieske Ketelaar for her commitment and great confidence and wish her a successful follow-up career. We look forward to seeing her (who knows) again in public administration in Fryslân.
