Nearly 40 students from Hochschule Emden Leer recently went on a high-tech safari in the Dutch corporate jungle. This visit was organized as part of the Interreg project by the Career Service of the Hochschule Emden/Leer and the Innovatiecluster Drachten.

During this tour, students visited leading technology companies such as Philips and Spark Holland. They also attended subject-specific presentations from other participating companies such as BD Kiestra, resato International and ZiuZ. These presentations offered them insight into the latest technological developments and innovations.

The response from Sylke Ahring, Dipl. Kffr. (FH) from the Career Service was very positive: “Thank you very much for the organization again, the students were excited and I guess there will be some applications, soon.” This feedback underlines the success of the field trip and the value it provides to the students.

A special aspect of the visit was the opportunity to see how electricians, engineers and IT specialists work together at Spark Holland. These professionals share a common space, which ensures short lines of communication and efficient collaboration. Students were also able to take a look inside the laboratories where tests are carried out, providing them with valuable practical insights.

Thanks go to all the companies that made the high-tech safari possible and of course also to the Interreg project team 'Development of the ICD-HS/EL ecosystem'.

The next safari, planned for the winter semester of 2024, is eagerly awaited. These experiences may soon lead to the first internship applications. This initiative demonstrates the power of practice-oriented learning and the opportunities for collaboration between education and industry, essential for the development of future professionals.
